About Commune

Led by a passionate Latino family, we produce captivating original shows nationally, aiming to break free from traditional norms of theatre etiquette, venues, showtimes, and narrative structures. Through thought-provoking storytelling and immersive experiences, we celebrate our cultural heritage, empower our community, and foster a welcoming environment where all individuals feel seen, heard, and inspired. Join us as we defy the status quo, challenge the boundaries of traditional theatre, and create a transformative journey that unites, uplifts, and celebrates the stories of working-class Latinos.

Past Works

Vincent

by Leonard Nimoy
Margaret Garcia art studio

Set after Vincent Van Gogh's death, his brother Theo speaks on the little-known side of Vincent, who has been known primarily as an impressionist painter who preferred to create his iconic works outdoors with a brush, rather than inside as a fine artist. This play brings together elements from theatre, painting, and photography to tell the story of two brothers who shared a close bond.

Staged in the Margaret Garcia art studio in Cypress Park, this unique event combines the best in theatre and art to create an immersive creative experience for audiences to enjoy.
